Now this is worth the few minutes to listen to. A story that hopefully will be sticker than many…
Are we truly soft wired first as empaths and next for agression? If we are and our social systems were based upon this nature rather than that of premising agression, we could have a different world. Really different world?
As an aside, this perspective on empathy helps the person who spent many hours as a child back in the Australian bush. Swimming in the irrigation channels was a summer must. Shuttling ants from mid-stream and certain death to the shore, was not. But it seemed that the few strokes for me, must have been miles in ant-strokes. Would they ever make it?
My silliness in the light of this look at human nature is perhaps not as silly as it certainly was portrayed in those years.
Hmmm. Maybe it’s not so bad being an empath, and why I still just can’t watch those scary movies…I can’t handle “being them.”
It has a chance of makes more sense now, and of being understood as something other than a weakness.
